Post-Reading Tasks
Task 1 - Alternative Ending
Working in pairs, you are to make up an alternative ending to the story you have just read. Click on the link below, and register yourself as a user. You only need an E-mail. Place the following as the first part of you story: He wasn’t exactly responsive. "Aren’t you asleep either?" he snarled. "Ah, come on and put your arm around us, can’t you?" I said, and he did, in a sort of way. Gingerly, I suppose, is how you’d describe it. He was very bony but better than nothing. Now you have to come up with at least 2 alternative endings to how the story continues. Be creative - only your imagination sets the limit. Inklewriter Task 3- Conflict solving
This is an individual task! Write 2600-3000 keystrokes, describing the conflict in the text:
Write it in a Google document. Remember to share it with your teacher. Task 5- Comic script
This is an individual task! Turn part 2, 3 or 4 from the text into a script, which has to be approximately 1500 keystrokes. Then go to Pixton on Skoletube, and create a comic, including the entire script. Be true to the theme, emotional tensions, descriptions in the text, environment and time! Write it in a Google doc. Remember to share it with your teacher! |
Task 2 - Describe the main character This is an individual task! Describe Larry and your main focus should be on Larry’s goals, dreams and motives. The description has to be 2600 to 3000 keystrokes. Find examples in the text, which support your argument. (If you say Larry is wild tempered, find an example in the text, i.e Part 3, Page 7: "Smack your own!" I screamed hysterically. "Smack your own! Shut up! Shut up!" At this he lost his patience and went after me.) Remember to elaborate on how it is shown, reasons etc. Write it in a Google docs. Remember to share it with everyone who has a link. Task 4-Task Diary
Larry is now 25-26 years old, he is living at home with both his parents, and 5 years younger brother, Sonny. Larry is keeping a diary; today he had a family crisis. Now you have to write 2600-3000 keystrokes as if you were Larry; describing the earlier family crises. You have to include:
Task 6- movie maker
This is a group task! Find a group of 2-4 people. Do a readers’ theater presentation or act out one of the parts of the text. Roles: - A narrator - Mom - Larry - (Dad) You will need to record this and make it into a video, and share it with your teacher. If you do not have a group, you cannot do this task! |
